Intermediate and JV ILH Track and Field Champions!
All intermediate girls track and field athletes are invited to a pizza party to celebrate your championship win. Plan on meeting at Kunuiakea Stadium at 4:00 pm. for your celebration. Spread the word and hope to see you there!
Congratulations to all the athletes who participated in this weekends Intermediate Championship Meet at Punahou. All your hard work at practices and a positive mental attitude paid off and you made the coaches and your families proud. Thank you to all the girls who came out to support your team mates even though you didn’t participate. The final results are posted below for your review.
The coaches would like to celebrate your victory with a pizza party next week. The date will be determined shortly so keep in contact with your coaches and they will let you know.
If you would still like to come out to practice and come to the meets to support the JV and Varsity athletes, please do. I’m sure they would love to see you there to cheer them on.
Once again, good job ladies! We hope you will come out again next year to defend your championship title. Track season starts in the beginning of February, so start planning for next year and start working out slowly in January. More information will be put out at the end of the year. What an awesome year and congratulations!
Wondering if your times will qualify you for this years state track and field meet? Here is the 2012 State qualifying standards for track & field.
Good luck JV and Varsity girls. There are only a handful of meets left to qualify at, so it will be important to attend practices regularly and work hard.
“Conquer you can, if you will”…These words were spoken by our beloved Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop to the women of Kamehameha Schools.
Support the KS Girls Track & Field by wearing this years team shirt. Buy your shirt from any track coach. Sizes S-L (unisex). Each shirt costs $15.00 cash or check (made out to Kamehameha Schools) will be accepted.
Mahalo to all the parents who came to our parent team meeting last night. The coaches appreciate your support and are excited for the opportunity to work with your daughters, and to see them grow physically and mentally throughout the season.
For those parents who stayed and listened to the food service orientation, mahalo! We would like to apologize for the technical difficulties with the food service video, and being patient with us. Here is a short recap of the guidelines for handling food:
Hair must be covered with Food Service bonnets only; no hats or visors (anyone handling food products)
No tank tops allowed; sleeves are required.
Shorts are okay.
Covered shoes required.
Gloves/aprons/bonnets must be worn at all times.
No one under 14 years old is allowed in the concession.
If you are available to help on either Friday or Saturday, please let Coach Gay know. (firstname.lastname@example.org) The concession will open at 3:30 pm on Friday and 3:00 pm on Saturday, so if you can come 15 minutes prior, that would be great. If not later shifts are available and you can come when you can, just let Coach Gay know so she can plan accordingly with the amount of people in the concession at one time. If we get enough people, you’ll be able to run out and watch your daughter compete, then come back in to the concession to work.
Once again, we look forward to our partnership in bringing success to your child and creating memories that will last a life time.
All parents are asked to be at the mandatory parent meeting on Tuesday at 5:30. We will be going over information that includes schedule, fundraising, dues, and other items as required by the KS Athletic Department. The meeting will be in our new Athletic facility, Ko’aia, top level in the classroom.
This week Friday and Saturday, the girls track team is responsible to run the concession for the two meets. It is very important that we get as much help as we can so everyone will have a chance to run out of the concession to watch their child compete. Immediately following our meeting, please stay around for a short orientation from our food service department. This is a mandatory orientation in order to handle the food, but if you have already seen the video and have been cleared to handle food, you are not required to stay. Please let Coach Gay know if you are available to work and if you are cleared with Akahi. Your help is greatly appreciated and needed.
Please contact Coach Gail for more information (email@example.com) or Coach Gay (firstname.lastname@example.org) regarding the concession.
Here are the handouts for your review and don’t forget to sign in on Tuesday so your daughter will receive credit.
Look forward to seeing you there. Mahalo nui loa for your support!

Thank you for supporting the KS Girls Track & Field Team.
School policy requires all athletes to travel on the school bus to and from track meets. If you need to make alternative travel plans, it is your responsibility to inform you coaches PRIOR to the event and have the necessary forms filled out. Coaches will no longer supply the forms and you will have to print this document prior to the meet.
If you have any question about this policy, contact the Athletic department.
Mahalo for following the rules.
