Accreditation Update
Friday, April 11th, 2008A committee of educators from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools (HAIS) recently visited Kamehameha Elementary School Käpalama on February 11th and 12th as part of our ongoing accreditation process. The purpose of accreditation is to clarify the school’s mission and outcomes, assess the impact of programs on students’ academic and personal growth, and develop and monitor a school improvement program for enhancing education. The committee was clearly impressed with our dedication to our Native Hawaiian children as evidenced through the many examples of wonderful teaching in our classrooms. The attached PowerPoint presentation, shown at the April 10th ATP Meeting, highlights our school’s progress throughout this process and the committee’s recommendations as we continue this journey.
