Final Project – only 1 of the 2 pictures needs to be done
evaluated on the following:
- cropping to best show the picture and its focus
- dodge burn technique, using light and dark
- any layer adjustments to enhance quality
- on another page, show before/after with your writing on it.
- turn in 2 files, first file finish pic with all layers psd
- secondr file before/after letter size with writing psd
- name files – first name-pic and first name-beforeafter
- turn in to drop box end of class

Final Projects
1 Prepare 2 photos for display
- select photos from either Grade 7 – Keei-09 or Grade 6 – Punaluu-09 on the public server
- evaluated on the following
- crop, your selection of crop
- adjustments to the picture
- dodge/burn technique
- framing
- No one else can do the same picture, so you must take a screen shot of the picture and print it, write your name on it and turn it in to me, I will post it and no one else can do it but you cannot change to another.

Heart Project
- 7×5 @ 200 ppi
- sign up for your heart text
- make a heart using shape tool
goal is to make it have a 3d look
- use blending options, clipping mask to add style to it
- insert other objects if you want
- use layer masks to mask out things
- type text on a path that you create, add style
- use dodge/burn tech to add lighting effect
- no background, keep it white

Name Plate Project
7X5 @ 200 ppi
- Design your first name by redesigning the font using the technique of changing the type to a shape an manipulating.
- Using a picture or pictures add background and style to it. No pictures of identifiable people.
Must have the following:
- Use the dodge/burn technique to enhance the project. show the darken and lighten layers
- Text must be stylized using blending options, positioning, and path changes.
- At the end, use shift-option-command-e to add a merged layer to the top of the layers
- Add a frame or border to this layer

Dodge and Burn Example
- find a portrait and use the techniques discussed in class
- final should be a 5×7 @ 240
- saved as a psd with all layers named
- top layer is a combined layer to show before and after
Text Example
- using the word Hawaii, redo it
- text should have use of gradient and other blending options
- find a picture using bridge, open in camera raw, adjust, save as
- add picture as a smart object or convert to smart object
- save as psd with all layers
