A certain rational function f(x) contains quadratic functions in both its numerator and denominator. Aside from that, we also know the following things about f:

  • f has a vertical asymptote at x = 5
  • f has a single x-intercept of x = 2
  • f is removably discontinuous at x = 1, and the limit as x →1 of f(x)=-1/9

Based on these  clues, evaluate:

(a) f(0)

(b) lim f(x) as x→∞

Be sure to show all your work.  Ask questions if you need help.  Also be sure you thoroughly understand your answer, if I ask you, you should be able to explain how you got your answer.
