Our last section had to do with Identity. We spent a great deal of time answering the question, “What is a Hawaiian?” We looked at how we perceive ourselves, the notion of “Hawaiian at heart,” & Hawaiians on the continent. Next we discussed how we are perceived by others and how many of these perceptions have been beased on Hollywood’s interpretations of us. Lastly, we will talk about the future. What do we see for Hawaiians in the future? What do we see for ourselves?
