I started\u00a0my teaching career\u00a0in\u00a0Hawaiian Language\/Hawaiian Studies at Ke Kulanui o Hawai\u02bbi ma Hilo &#8211; the University of Hawai\u02bbi at Hilo. In addition to teaching, I worked as a curriculum developer and editor at Ka Hale Kuamo\u02bbo, a\u00a0curriculum development center which supported Hawaiian Immersion schools throughout Hawai &#8216;i.<\/p>\n<p>After ten years of teaching &amp; working on Hawai\u02bbi island, we moved to Maui nei. I continued developing curriculum at the Kula Kaiapuni at both P\u0101\u02bbia and Kalama then joined the Hawaiian Studies\u00a0faculty at then Maui Community College and UH Center.<\/p>\n<p>I started as a\u00a0<em>high school<\/em>\u00a0kumu in Hawaiian language here at Kamehameha Maui in 2004. Eventually I switched over to Hawaiian History, a graduation requirement,\u00a0in order to have\u00a0every student.<\/p>\n<p>I love\u00a0teaching our mo\u02bbolelo to the Seniors. Hopefully, it solidifies that foundation we&#8217;ve all\u00a0been building during their years here. Hopefully, it makes them confident and proud\u00a0as young, educated\u00a0Hawaiians.
