worked hard in researching, writing, practicing, and performing their speeches for our annual speech festival which was held on Friday. \u00a0Our speech festival is now called Lamak\u016b, which means the torch or the light that shines the way or path. \u00a0So fitting as the students needed to share their light! \u00a0This year, the students honored Mrs. Pai, who recently retired, for her hard work and dedication to Kula Ha&#8217;aha&#8217;a. \u00a0She was the founder of this great event! \u00a0Mahalo Mrs. Pai! \u00a0Ho&#8217;omaika&#8217;i to our 5B finalists Ciana, who presented &#8220;Sleep&#8221; which persuaded us that sleep so important and that school should start 30 mins. later and Kai, who presented his persuasive speech &#8220;Tech<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">No<\/span>logy&#8221; which focused on the negative effects of too much technology!
