Trimester #1<\/p><\/div>\n

Ho’omaika’i to the following students who worked extremely hard at reaching the 9 genre reading goal for Trimester #1: \u00a0Hayden, Kacelyn, Makana, Dylan, Tyce, Shania, and Emma Rose!<\/span> \u00a0 Great job!<\/p>\n

Many times students tend to choose their “favorite” genre again and again, but a lot haven’t tried another. \u00a011 additional students read a 2+ books in the same genre. \u00a06 of them would have met the genre goal by selecting a book from different genres instead of reading the same one. \u00a0We are working on book\/genre selection in class to help all students become wide readers and read from a variety…Who knows? \u00a0You may find a new “favorite” genre by trying! \u00a0As a reminder to all, at the end of last year: 21 out of 24 students met their 9 genre goal and the remaining 3 were completed 8 genres! It can be done! \u00a0Keep on reading and swim strong! \u00a0Ho’omau ka’u I’a! Stay tuned for the photo of students who turned GENRE GOLD this trimester! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

P.S. \u00a0Yippee! \u00a0Students have collectively read 7.6 million words so far this year!<\/p>\n
