Meet the Newest FISH! Philosophers of 5B!<\/p><\/div>\n

Aloha & Welcome \u0113 na Papa \u02bbElima Ohana!<\/p>\n

Our school year together has officially started and I\u02bbd like to take this time to welcome all of you into our ohana. \u00a0It was great meeting most of you at open house & I look forward to meeting you all soon! \u00a0Here are some of the types of postings that you can expect to see throughout the year on our class blog:<\/p>\n

Weekly Ohana Alerts and Updates-This will give you a quick glance of what to expect for the week. \u00a0Classroom Happenings-Content area learning that is going on in class. \u00a0Special Events- To share with you the experiences that our keiki are having. Student Assignments- At times students will be given assignments to complete through our blog. \u00a0Classroom Successes- Posts of the many success stories and accomplishments of all the keiki…AND Tons of Photos & Videos to allow you a glimpse into our “5B fishbowl!”<\/p>\n

To “swim” with us…important information for ohana:<\/p>\n

1) \u00a0Homework is given every Monday-Thursday. \u00a0It will consist of 30 minutes of reading a SURF book (Book of student choice) & completion of an At Home reading log which requires a parent signature daily. \u00a0Please sign log only AFTER reading is done for the day & another content area assignment which was previously covered in class. \u00a0Homework should take approximately 50-60 mins. daily (in accordance to national standard of 10 mins per grade level 5th gr. x 10 mins=50 mins). \u00a0NOTE: * If at anytime, homework takes more than 1 hr. 30 mins., please write me a note, call, or email me so I can further assist students in class.<\/p>\n

2) \u00a0Our class blog will offer you an opportunity to “dive into our fishbowl” at your convenience to see what the 5B FISH! Philosophers are doing. \u00a0Checking in weekly (Or More often) will keep you in the “swim.” \u00a0I usually will post 2-3 times a week…at times even daily. \u00a0If you see pink<\/span>,\u00a0it will be an alert to students that they must complete an assignment by posting a comment on the blog. \u00a0If you see\u00a0blue, <\/span>it is a visual cue for parents. \u00a0Here\u02bbs our class blog link…bookmark us & swim along! \u00a0https:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/kaahhee I welcome your feedback, comments, mana\u02bbo, inspirations, etc. All you need to do is click on the comment button and type! I look forward to our partnership!<\/p>\n

3) \u00a0Voki (Mini Me) to the right of our blog page also shares information, updates, reminders, etc. \u00a0Click on it to hear newest message!<\/p>\n
