Aloha nō kākou, I am Kumu Kehau and I currently teach both Algebra 1 and Geometry. My philosophy of education has been formed on the strong belief that education provides individuals with the tools and knowledge necessary to understand and actively participate within today’s ever-changing world. Higher education helps to sustain the human values that contribute to individual and collective well-being, and is the basis for lifelong learning. It inspires confidence, provides skills, and enables people to become more self-reliant and aware of opportunities while enhancing the quality of one’s life.

Interests
My fondest memories come from spending my childhood at the beaches of Waimanalo on the island of Oa`hu. Thus, swimming in the ocean and relaxing on the beach is my favorite past time. On the creative side, I love combining geometric patterns and vibrant colors when creating unique quilts for my family and friends.
