Middle School Math

Good job 7th graders! By now you should have completed the first 6 pages of the VTAM Lab Booklet! If not, you better get with it!!!! Booklets and Task Analysis Instructions & Parent Survey will be due and the Post-Lab test will be given on the following dates, so be prepared!

PERIODS 2,6,7 - Wednesday 10/1/08

PERIODS 3,5 - Thursday 10/2/08

Be sure to finish your two sets of tangram puzzles soon. The ablsolute last day to turn these in will be FRIDAY 10/3/08!

All 7th graders will be going to the VTAM Lab with Mrs. Spittler starting on MONDAY 9/22/08. We will be working on the Grandfather Tang’s Story project that you will be completing with your 2nd grade “Reading Buddies.”

Math topicss that you will be covering in this interdisciplinary unit include the following:

• Angles
• Parallel & Perpendicular Lines
• Polygons
• Classifying Triangles
• Classifying Quadrilaterals
• Similar Triangles
• Perimeter & Area of Polygons
• Fractions / Ratios
• Probability

Come prepared and be ready to work … make sure that you have all of your parent permission forms completed and that you are up-to-date with your safety tests!

On Wednesday afternoon, you will be getting your papers back … be sure to look it over carefully.  The second round of Mastery Testing will take place in class with Mrs. Berryman soon, so you have just a short time to brush up on the skills that need work.

Study your mistakes from the first round of testing and BE READY for the next round.  Remember that you only have 3 chances to get 100% or else you will need to attend the mandatory afterschool sessions!
