    Workshop Session Description:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    Session 1:\u00a0<\/strong>Cinematic\u00a0Narrative\u00a0in the Classroom (Jim Sill – EdTech Team)<\/strong>
    \n<\/span>Unfold the language of film to see how easy it is to change the way classroom video projects are understood and produced. \u00a0\u00a0Learn\u00a0how you can teach media literacy in your classroom to get students to stop blindly consuming what is being presented on the screen and start using it to tell their own story.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Session 2:\u00a0<\/span>Leveraging Google Tools for Future Ready Thinkers (<\/span><\/strong>Monica Martinez – EdTech Team)<\/strong>
    \n<\/span>Empower your students with the skills and resources they need to be future ready. During this hands-on workshop, we will go beyond the basic use of a tool and instead explore features that will take your student’s learning to a competitive and real-wolrd environment. Learn how to create units of study that give students voice, choice, and the opportunity to develop 21st century skills through inquiry-based projects. Many great Google resources including the “unknowns” and lesson ideas will be explored.

    Session 3:\u00a0Assessment in the Digital Age (<\/span><\/strong>Molly Schroeder – EdTech Team)<\/strong>
    \n<\/span>Come and explore the many different options for assessing students and providing feedback in the digital age. We’ll explore mostly formative assessment tips and tools and also creative ways that you can provide individualized feedback to students based about projects and assignments. In this session we’ll explore some Google Spreadsheet Add-Ons like Doctopus\/Goobric to use rubrics to grade Google Classroom assignments, Flubaroo to self grade multiple choice questions, Autocrat to provide personalized feedback on assessments and Yet Another Mail Merge to share feedback via email. We’ll see if there is time to explore other feedback and assessment tools like PearDeck, Socrative, Kahoot and more!<\/span><\/p>\n

    Session 4:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Promoting Student Agency with Student Tech Teams (Kern Kelley – EdTech Team)<\/strong>
    \n<\/span>Few schools have the amount of technical support that they need and one of the most overlooked resources schools have is their students! If you have staff who are reluctant with technology, students can be great liaisons to change while empowering the student at the same time. The student learns by teaching and the teacher learns by listening. In this session, we will cover how to create and manage a student tech team. We will examine how students digitize their work, create digital portfolios and have teachers manage the whole process. Examples, best practices and templates for each step will be included in the session.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Session 5:\u00a0<\/span>Immersive Learning Games for the Classroom (<\/span><\/strong>James Sanders – EdTech Team)<\/strong>
    \n<\/span>In this workshop we will explore how we can bring immersive learning games into the classroom with Breakout EDU.\u00a0 The session will kickoff with playing a Breakout EDU game, followed by time to design standards-aligned games for your own classroom, and close with a Socratic seminar on the importance of critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork in education.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Session 6:\u00a0Publishing Interactive Content with iBooks Author (Apple Education Specialist)<\/strong>
    \n<\/span>Learn how to create and share interactive Multi-Touch books for learning and teaching.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
