Class of 2008 - Senior Class Video

November 15th, 2007 by Chandell Asuncion

Aloha,

We are creating a video for the Class of 2008 and need your help. If you have any photos of your daughter or son and their friends from the last 4 years we would greatly appreciate your submissions.  We really want all of the students to be represented in the video in a meaningful way, and in order for us to do this we are asking you to share what you have. The more we have to select from the better.

What to Submit

Digital images: If you are able to provide a CD with the full sized digital images that would be great. Any format is OK, we can work with .jpg, .tif, or RAW images.

Printed Copies: Will be returned no later than mid January.

Video: A DVD or tape can be submitted, if available we will like to have raw footage. No copyright material please, unless it includes a signed “Permission of Usage” agreement from the owner. Songs: This can be the written words or music, or a recording.  However you don’t have to worry about recording the song, if selected for inclusion in this years video we will contact you, and arrange for the song to be recorded.

Poems, Art, Essays, Stories: A copy of the poem can be submitted via email. If the poem is not in a digital format and is part of a art piece, email us the information and we can make arrangements with you to have the piece digitized, either by scanning it, or photographing it.

Animation: Animations can be submitted on a CD, DVD, or can be emailed.  Emailed files must include the authors contact information, and file information. ie. what software was used, the file extension, the length of time, title, and description, and when the file was created (month and year)

Memories: This area is wide open, but is an area where seniors can express themselves and share special memories. This information can be emailed to me directly, or students can respond to one of the many prompts on the senior video consortium blog. Please remind students, not to use first and last names, when posting to the blog, or when openly writing in a blog. Stories that need to include first and last names should be emailed to me directly.

Other: If you have something that you think would be great to include, email me with your ideas, and I’ll see what we can do to capture the moment!

How to Submit

Submissions for the senior video can be sent to me directly via email, or can be dropped off at Ms. Tavares’s Room. Please help to spread the word to other parents (Class of 2008), and to share my email address and phone number.  Thank you for sharing your memories with us.

When to Submit

First deadline:December 19th, 2007 EXTENDED TO FEBRUARY 29th, 2008 (All previous years – This will be the only submission date, work will begin on December 20th)

Current Material:

Second deadline: February 1, 2008 EXTENDED TO APRIL 2nd, 2008 (This should only be current material)

Volunteer to Help the Graduation Video Consortium

There is a lot of work to be done between now and the end of May. If you are interested in helping email or call. Our first work session will be on December 20th, from 8:00am - 3:30 pm, we will need a minimum of six and a maximum of 20 people to log, organize, scan, and burn backup CD’s. All instructions will be provided. It should be a fun day. Other dates will be announced.

Contact List:

If you would like to be added to our contact list so that you can be kept up-to-date via email or voice mail, add your name to our contact list. In addition all of our communications will be posted in the KS Announcement Blog under “Graduation Video Consortium” and occasionally we will be mailing flyers home.

 Seniors:
Seniors are asked to respond to the questions listed in the “Graduation Video Consortium” section.  All entries will be reviewed for inclusion in the final edit of the senior video.  A special section entitled “Show your gratitude” is open to everyone, who wishes to say thank you to a graduating senior, KS staff, or loved one. Seniors are also encouraged to nominate a song, chant, or musical piece to be used in the video.

Sincerely,
Chandell Asuncion (Committee Chairperson)

Show Your Gratitude!

This entry is open to everyone who would like to show their gratitude to a graduating senior, to a member of the KS staff, or to a loved one. This is your opportunity to say thank you for the little things that make each day special.

 One thank you per entry.

EXAMPLE: first and last name of the person you are thanking
Title: Senior, Staff, loved one, etc.

Thank you for……
What did it mean to you…..
Dear Mom and Dad…
Dear Mr./Ms. ________……
Your smile has…

Your support has….
Your patience has…
Your thoughtfulness has…

 TWO IMPORTANT NOTES:

  1. All thank you notes, will be received via the blog but will not appear publicly. They will be collected privately, and distributed in a sealed envelop on your behalf  at the end-of-the-year. This is a great way to say all the things you want to say, but never have enough time to write in the yearbooks.
  2. You may also drop off your thank you notes, in the learning center, see the “Gratitude Box” on the counter.
