Aunty Kathy demonstrated for the students how to paint the ulu fruit and plant using curved stokes with the paintbrush and adding details with her fingers.  The ulu plant is Papa &#8216;Ekolu&#8217;s class plant.<\/p>\n<p>Aunty Kathy, a master gourd carver and muralist, has been a professional artist for over 30 years and is registered with the &#8220;Artist in the School Teaching Partners&#8221; for public schools in Hawaii.
