Today, the trust carries forward Bishop&#8217;s vision of civic generosity and his desire, in life as in death, to perpetuate the shared values, legacy and memory of Bernice Pauahi Bishop, his wife, whom he held so dear.&#8221;  (KS E-News)<\/p>\n<p>Today we honored and celebrated the birthday of Charles Reed Bishop with an all-school convocation. Did you know Mr. Bishop built most of the first school\u2019s buildings, hired and paid teachers and supported programs from his own private funds?
