Students were in for a treat today when a published children’s author visited our campus this morning. Author Anne Bustard, born in Hawai’i, is the author of non-fiction books for young readers.
Anne shared her writing process and journey in publishing Buddy: The Story of Buddy Holly. Her inspiring story showed us first hand the importance of having a growth mindset- the belief in oneself to get smarter and through great effort getting stronger. Anne shared how many editors rejected her work, but she never gave up. Her perseverance and faith in herself paid off as her book was finally published in 2005.
