{"id":2264,"date":"2012-09-26T15:10:46","date_gmt":"2012-09-27T01:10:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogsksbeedu.wpenginepowered.com\/hes\/?p=2264"},"modified":"2012-09-26T15:10:46","modified_gmt":"2012-09-27T01:10:46","slug":"%ca%bbaha-%ca%bbopio-officers-and-reps-attend-team-building-planning-session","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/hes\/2012\/09\/26\/%ca%bbaha-%ca%bbopio-officers-and-reps-attend-team-building-planning-session\/","title":{"rendered":"\u02bbAha \u02bb\u014cpio Officers and Reps Attend Team Building &#038; Planning Session"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This morning our officers and class representatives (18 of them) attended a team building and planning session to start off the new school year.\u00a0 A morning meeting message greeted our new alaka\u02bbi as they entered the room.\u00a0 It asked how they were feeling about being part of the \u02bbAha \u02bb\u014cpio \u02bbohana.\u00a0 Nearly all them said that they were excited &#8211; with a few who noted that they were nervous!\u00a0 After doing a greeting activity (Knock, knock), students then did a seek and find activity to learn more about each other.\u00a0 Then it was down to business.\u00a0 The main focus of the session was to build a team or \u02bbohana with the foundation of relationships and respect.<\/p>\n<p>The students watched two film-clips &#8211; one from the movie &#8220;Babe&#8221; and another from &#8220;Antz&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0 While &#8220;Babe&#8221; shared what it meant to be a respectful leader by showing and behaving respectfully, &#8220;Antz&#8221; demonstrated the importance of working as a team to accomplish a common goal.\u00a0 There was great discussion amongst the students as to what respect looks like and why working together as a team or \u02bbohana is meaningful.\n\t\t\t<div id='gallery-2264-1' class='gallery gallery-2264'>\n\t\t\t\t<div class='gallery-row'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<dl class='gallery-item col-2'>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<dt class='gallery-icon'><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/hes\/files\/2012\/09\/02.jpg\" class=\"lightbox image_icon_zoom gallery-image-wrap\" title=\"\" rel=\"group-2264\" alt=\"\" data-fittoview=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/hes\/files\/2012\/09\/02-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"0[2]\" class=\"gallery-image attachment-thumbnail\" \/><\/a><\/dt>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/dl>\n\t\t\t\t\t<dl class='gallery-item col-2'>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<dt class='gallery-icon'><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/hes\/files\/2012\/09\/01-6.jpg\" class=\"lightbox image_icon_zoom gallery-image-wrap\" title=\"\" rel=\"group-2264\" alt=\"\" data-fittoview=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/hes\/files\/2012\/09\/01-6-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"0[1] (6)\" class=\"gallery-image attachment-thumbnail\" \/><\/a><\/dt>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/dl>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><!-- .gallery -->\n\n<p>Students planned several upcoming school activities and had preliminary discussions on service projects.\u00a0 The final &#8220;sharing&#8221; activity was an M&amp;M (candy) one.\u00a0 Students were each given a cupful of M&amp;M&#8217;s.\u00a0 Turning to a partner and based on the different colors of M&amp;M&#8217;s in their cups, they were to share with each other things about themselves, their families, their wishes for the world and what they would like to be when they grow up.\u00a0 At the end of this activity, the students ate their M&amp;M&#8217;s and were off back to class!\u00a0 We are going to have a great year!!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This morning our officers and class representatives (18 of them) attended a team building and planning session to start off the new school year.\u00a0 A morning meeting message greeted our new alaka\u02bbi as they entered the room.\u00a0 It asked how they were feeling about being part of the \u02bbAha \u02bb\u014cpio \u02bbohana.\u00a0 Nearly all them said &#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":165,"featured_media":2265,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2264","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.8 -
