May Hāweo Awardees Honored

Students who demonstrated the third trimester Hawaiian value of kōkua above and beyond their classmates for the month of May, were honored at lunch today.  Their parents and ʻohana joined them on stage where they were recognized for the special achievement.
Principal Kāhealani Naeʻole-Wong and our Headmaster Hololua Stender were on hand to meet and congratulate the students and their ʻohana.
This was our final Hāweo luncheon for the year.  Celebrated every month, there were nearly 500 parents and ʻohana who have attended this award luncheon during the course of the year.  Hoʻomaikaʻi to all!

A definite highlight of the kindergarten year is the Kindergarten Opera.  And, as always, the papa mālaaʻo haumāna delighted us with their performance of this classic story.

“E hoʻoulu i ka lāhui Hawaiʻi”  May our people continue to be inspired, is the theme for our May Day Program this year.  Please join us on Friday, May 3rd at 8:30am at the Pā Hula located in front of Hāʻaeamahi dining hall.  Bring your mats, lawn chairs, camers and umbrellas (just in case).
Keiki may wear slippers or sandals that day!

Phone Calls to the Classroom

We would like to ask parents to refrain from contacting the teachers in the classsroom during regular school hours (7:45am – 2:40pm).   Teachers are focused on teaching their lessons, assisting in transitioning students from classes/recess/lunch.  Thus, they may not be able to answer your call in a timely manner.
We ask that if you need to contact the teacher and or get a message to your child, please contact Aunty B in our administration office.  Her telephone number is 982-0278.  She will get your message the teacher or your child promptly.



March Hāweo Awardees Honored

We honored our March Hāweo awardees at lunch recently.  Students who demonstrated the third trimester Hawaiian value of kōkua (to help or aid, offer assistance to anyone, anytime) during the month of March were selected for this award.  Parents and ʻohana joined their special celebrant for lunch on the stage in Hāʻaeamahi dining hall.  Hoʻomaikaʻi to all!
