Ellison S. Onizuka Science Day

This month we celebrate the life of Ellison S. Onizuka. A local boy who reached for his dreams by becoming the first Japanese American astronaut into space and the first from Hawai`i.  Onizuka is a model to share with our keiki on being humble, working hard and giving back to the community. Take a look at his life in the short video below.

His legacy of sharing his experiences of being an astronaut and being in space continues on during the Onizuka Science Day held every January at the University of Hawai`i at Hilo.  Below is a flyer of this educational and inspiring event.  Students in grades 4-12 are encouraged to explore various topics of science through hands-on workshops and exhibits.
