I challenge you!
As the new year starts many people begin the year with resolutions. This year with the encouragement by a fellow kumu, I think I’ll be skipping my resolutions and go for 30-day challenges. Here’s the video that she shared with us on Facebook about 30-day challenges. I encourage you to watch it and tell me what you think. Will you try a 30-day challenge? What will it be?
So for every 30 days I’m going to try something new. For January I’m going to try and work out everyday for about 30 minutes. It doesn’t matter if its walking, running, zumba, yoga, Wii Fit, or biking. I’m going to try some sort of exercise every day of this month. So far I have been great. January 1 walked 2.5 miles. Today, January 2 I walked 3.5 miles.
Something else that I’ve always wanted to do, but don’t make the time for is to read professional articles relating to technology or science education. Every night, I will read one article relating to technology or science education. It is my hope that I’ll expand my knowledge and be able to help my students better in these areas.
I hope that you will join in on the 30-day challenge.
I’m in!! January challenge: no buying coffee (or Jamba Juice…throwing that one in for good measure). I want to save money!!!
Thanks Kumu Iaea for being an inspiration and for sharing. Keep us all posted how it goes.
Humm… 30-day challenge! I guess so, why not? I will….. Eat the right amount of servings from each food group! I really need to work on portions, whatʻs healthy for my body, whatʻs not………
That is a great goal! I like that portion control part too. That’s where I probably need to work on. Sometimes all the food looks so good that I want to eat it all and plenty of it. Then I’m so full after. I think I’ll try that portion control on another 30-day challenge. I’ll keep that one in mind. Thanks. Let me know how it goes. Keep it up!
Sounds like a challenge myself! For January, I’m going to try to ride my bike everyday. I’m going to be more fit!
Iʻll post my updates on my blog! Iʻll try and do at least one post a week! hey, maybe that can be part of all my 30 day- challenges! Check my blog!
That would be great if you posted it on your blog and a great use of your blog to track your progress. Then other students will see your challenges and maybe join in. Maybe I’ll post my progress on my blog every week like you. Like on Sunday, as a check point to make sure I’m on track.
I think that that’s a great ideas Ho’o. I think i’ll try that to.
I am so in. I’m going to walk up and down my road 5 times each day. That would give me a challenge.
Great idea! You don’t need to go far to get some exercise. We walk up and down our road sometimes, but it can be dangerous since people speed on our road. So now we go to the park. I see many people there, so its nice and motivating when I see others walking.
I’ll try and do my best to exersize often so I will be more fit.
Great goal! Do you think this will help you in your basketball performance and games?
My 30 day challenge is to keep my room clean. Everyday I have stuff to pick up but sometimes it just gets piled up. I hope to complete my 30 day challenge.
Thank you for joining the challenge. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Maybe post it on your blog. You can pick up something every day to make sure that your room stays clean.
I’m in! I won’t get frustrated and mad at little things for 30 days! The more happy days in your life, the more happy you will be throughout your life!
Great challenge. I know that sometimes I get frustrated about the little things and it ruins my day. Yet when I look back at it, it didn’t make sense to get upset over something that I couldn’t control. I like that attitude that you have for this challenge. Seeing the brighter things in life!!
My 30-day challenge will be to do something healthy physically everyday.
Love it! So what kind of physical activities do you like to do?
Aloha Mrs. Chang!
Ok, I’m IN! I’m on the same 30-day Challenge as Kumu Iaea. NO Jamba Juice & NO Starbucks. Omg, it’s been 12 days- missing it much, but saving $ and my wallet is very happy!
Thanks Kumu Kanani for joining in! Keep it up! You’re about half what through the month and you’re doing great!
My challenge is to be more active. And to enjoy life not just wait to die.
What kind of activities do you like to do? Do you play sports?
My 30 day challenge is to read 30 minutes more a week. I know I can do it!
You can do it!!! What genres do you like to read? What book are you reading now? I enjoy adventure/mystery. Not scary mysteries though. I also like to read biographies. Maybe I’ll try your goal during the summer when I have more time for pleasure reading. Keep me posted on how you are doing.
I’ll give it a try and I’ll eat a quarter cup of rice
I’m happy that you’ll be trying this challenge Ryzlin. Keep it up and keep me posted on how you do.
For 30 days i will eat less candy…..at least i’ll try!!!!!
Trying is good, but if you say that you’re going to commit, it might be easier.
Why not? I am in! For the next 30-days I will exercise more and I will Practice softball with my dad for at least 2o minutes. My mom is trying to make our family take a soda challenge not to drink soda for 30 days. My dad disagrees with that so no 30 day challenge for my family, yet.
Where do you and your dad practice softball? Do you play on a team? I think its a great challenge to not drink soda for 30 days. I know that when I was your age my mother didn’t allow us to drink soda. Only on special occasions. Give it a try, nothing to lose. Thanks for participating.
Well, for 30 days I can try to watch less T.V and get outside. I can ride my bike or jump on my trampoline. Let’s see if I follow through with this!
My 30 day challenge is to always fold my blanket when I wake up. I always forget to fold my blanket and my mom gets mad. I want to please her in the morning.
Mrs.Chang I might do the 30 day challenge or I might not it depends if I have the time because I have Karate or basketball.
I plan to eat at least on healthly food each day. This will be a hard one!!!!
I’m in! I want to try eat more healthy and try to stay of the computer more. This might be tough….
I will try to get a challenge, but I’m not gonna guarantee it, due to after school activities and others. I will try!
I want to try to jump on my pogo stick(s) for at least 5 minutes each day. I want to try to jump for at least 50 jumps in a row without falling. This will be challenging.
i am in and i will ride my bike monday, wenseday, and friday.
a challenge i will try to do for 30 days is to ride bike for 30 min.
I think for my 30 day challenge I will try to keep my room clean. I will also try to play bad mitten from the new set my mom bought.
Wow! sounds good i guess i’m in. I will start eating a certain amount of food for january and febuary. I will also go running each weekend with my brother every morning. The last thing I will do for the 30 day challenge is to clean and do my chores without being told too.
I will do something physically every day! For a half and hour!
I like aukai’s goal. I think I’ll do that too.
My 30 day challenge was to lose weight. I think that it will help me to have easier time to run in P.E. I will play hacky sack to lose weight because it’s fun and easy to do. I also sweat a lot!
Hacky sack…yeah. I remember trying to play that when I was younger. Though I never was good at it. It’s fun when you’re playing with friends. Do you have any special moves for hacky sack?
My 30 day challenge is to run down my road up and down at least a 1/2 hour. i will try and eat the right amount of food.
My 30 day challenge is to run down my road up and down at least a 1/2 hour. i will try and eat the right amount of food.I will try my hardest but not feeling it now
The 30 day challenge sounds challenging!!! I will try eating brown rice for dinner.
Cool. My 30 day challenge is to exersize for 10 min every day for 30 days.
I think that the 30 day challenge is a great idea!I will try to make a goal to eating more vegies.I will also try to do something physical every 30 mins a day. I will also start reading for at least 30-45 mins a day.The last thing I will do is try to watch less T.V.
For my 30 day challenge i will run up and down my street for at least for 30 minutes for 30 days. I will also eat all my veggies in and out of school.I also will try to stop waching t.v and being a couch patato.
I think that its great to start a 30 day challenge, start small and end big. I think I might start a 30 day challenge so I can start exercising to have a healthier body.
I don’t want to do the 30-day challenge. I am not interested, but thank you.
