Basic Hawaiian

This is an interactive website that is also available as an app to introduce to Hawaiian Language.  The basichawaiian.com website shares, “Always wanted to learn how to speak Hawaiian?  Register for Basic Hawaiian now and start introducing yourself in Hawaiian after the first module. With Basic Hawaiian you will learn over 1000 Hawaiian words, dozens of Hawaiian proverbs, songs and chants and countless phrases. In fact, within the first weeks, you and your learning ʻohana will be able to hold simple conversations in Hawaiian.”

Ka Leo ʻŌiwi

These are a series of online videos that may be used as a resource to practice and become familiar with the Hawaiian language.  According to their website, “Ka Leo ʻŌiwi provides a foundation in the Hawaiian language through engagement, interaction, and making the learner a part of the lesson through lohe (hear), ʻoni (act), and walaʻau (speak). Additionally, the individual learner sets the pace. If you missed a lesson, watch the episode again at your convenience on ʻŌiwiTV.”

Kulāiwi

According to the KS Distance Learning website, Kulāiwi is “a program featuring a series of thirty, 60-minute video lessons on how to speak Hawaiian with Ekela Kaniaupio-Crozier. An accompanying workbook is available for download and can be used with the lessons.”
