Our February HLP Offering will be on February 14 and 15. Sign ups will be available from February 2 through 7. Please sign up during one of your free periods using the following link:

This HLP assessment offering is for students who have not passed a Hawaiian language course (both semesters) with a grade of a C- or higher or those who are not currently enrolled in a Hawaiian language class.

HLP Graduation Requirement

Our Kamehameha Schools Kapālama 2017-2018 High School Catalog of Courses states the following:

Hawaiian Language Proficiency – All Kamehameha High School students, regardless of prior Hawaiian language study or experience, must demonstrate a level of Hawaiian language proficiency in the areas of listening, reading, speaking and writing:

  1. through a series of assessments OR
  2. Passing Hawaiian 1 (both semesters) with a grade of C- or higher

The last offering during SY 2015-2016 for students who are not enrolled in a Hawaiian 1 class will be from February 16 through 19.  Sign ups will be available the week of January 25 through 29.  Please sign up for one of your free periods using the following link:

January 2016 Hawaiian Language Proficiency Assessment Results

January 2016 Hawaiian Language Proficiency Assessment Offering

November Hawaiian Language Proficiency Offering

NOVEMBER 2015 HLP SIGN UP – LISTENING AND READING
We will be offering the Listening and Reading portions of the Hawaiian Language Proficiency assessment on Thursday, November 19 and Friday, November 20. Students will be able to sign up from November 2nd through November 9th using the following link: http://goo.gl/forms/DprdA20Oj1

October Hawaiian Language Proficiency Assessment Offering

The first offering of all four skill assessments (listening, reading, speaking and writing) of the Hawaiian Language Proficiency assessment will be Tuesday, October 27 through Friday, October 30, 2015 for students who are not currently enrolled in a Hawaiian 1 class. Students may sign up using the following link from September 21 – October 2.

Please be sure to sign up during free periods and not during an assigned class period. Confirmation emails will be sent to the email address provided on the sign up form by Friday, October 16.

HLP Assessment Results Now Available on KS Connect

Aloha mai kākou!  I am excited to announce that students and parents are now able to view Hawaiian Language Proficiency Assessment standings via KS Connect.

When logging on to KS Connect, you will now see “HL Proficiency” under the progress tab.

Once you click on the link for “HL Proficiency,” you will see:

If there are blanks, that means that those skill assessments have not yet been attempted.
