When will the books be sold?
Books will be sold twice during the year—in December and April. Your friends and families are welcome to purchase them! Monies raised will be used to help homeless shelters, Native Hawaiian Charter Schools, purchase phone cards for soldiers in Iraq and other good causes.
Do I need to illustrate the books?
You or your friend/s will need to illustrate the books, use digital photos, or free images from the internet. For specific information on internet copyrights please click here.
Could I publish something from the past?
Sure, if it’s never been published before, why not? You should revisit/revise the material and submit it for publication.
Who approves the books for publication?
You will first need to find an adult to proofread and edit your book then submit it to Golden Pencils’ Editorial Board. You may be asked to make revisions then you will be given the final stamp of approval.

When can we start?
RIGHT NOW!
You can write when you are in school, on the bus, at home, or even while you are waiting in a doctor’s office!
