Pam is the Executive Director of the <strong>Hale Empowerment &amp; Revitalization Organization, Inc. (HERO)<\/strong> and <strong>Habitat for Humanity, Hale County, Inc<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As a grassroots non-profit, HERO creates community development opportunities that celebrate rural communities in the Alabama Black Belt. HERO builds affordable housing to help families achieve their dream of homeownership and economic development to create jobs and job training. Renovating abandoned buildings provides new life to downtown areas. Pam was the founder and now leads Habitat for Humanity, Hale County, Inc. creating homeownership opportunities for very low-income families.<\/p>\n<p>Pam grew up outside San Francisco and enjoyed a successful 18-year career in the apparel industry prior to dedicating herself to community development work. Joining Auburn University\u2019s Rural Studio in 2003, she studied innovations in architecture as an Outreach Fellow and stayed in Hale County to found HERO Housing Resource Center in 2004 and Habitat in 2006. She has led completion of more than $15,000,000 in community development assets.<\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-frame-wrapper alignleft frame-shadow\"><div class=\"custom-frame-inner-wrapper\"><div class=\"custom-frame-padding\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-71\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/edtechconference2014\/files\/2014\/03\/DJ.jpg\" alt=\"Dewitt Jones\" width=\"143\" height=\"194\" \/><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<a id=\"dewitt\"><\/a><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Dewitt Jones<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nDewitt Jones is one of America&#8217;s top professional photographers with a career stretching over twenty years.<\/p>\n<p>As a motion picture director, he had two documentary films nominated for Academy Awards (<em>Climb<\/em> &#8211; Best Live Action Short Film and <em>John Muir&#8217;s High Sierra<\/em> &#8211; Best Short Subject Documentary) before he was thirty.<\/p>\n<p>Turning to advertising, Jones rose to the forefront of corporate creative marketing photographing national advertising campaigns for Dewar&#8217;s Scotch, Canon, and United Airlines.<\/p>\n<p>He has published nine books, including <em>California!, Visions of Wilderness, What The Road Passes By, Robert Frost; A Tribute To The Source, Canyon Country<\/em> and <em>John Muir\u2019s High Sierra<\/em>. His most recent book, <em>The Nature of Leadership<\/em> was created in collaboration with Stephen R. Covey (<em>The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People<\/em>). Dewitt&#8217;s column, <em>Basic Jones<\/em>, appears monthly in Outdoor Photographer magazine.<\/p>\n<p>He is a cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College with a B.A. in Drama and holds a Masters Degree in film making from UCLA.<br \/>\nDewitt is recognized as a world class lecturer.
