We are living in a time of exciting change, and our June 2013 conference is set to provide a time of learning, networking, and sharing with educators from around the state and world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A CALLOUT FOR PROPOSALS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You are invited to submit a proposal to share your experience and expertise with your fellow educators at our <strong>2013 K\u016bkulu Kaiaulu Conference: Building Global Communities <\/strong>on June 4 and 5 at the Neal Blaisdell Center. Others will benefit from your experience while you make a valuable contribution to the profession. Our goal is for attendees to experience informative, inspirational, relevant, and meaningful professional development.<\/p>\n<p>The conference is expected to attract about 400 attendees and draw many participants eager to learn about (and implement) the latest ideas and technology in education. This year, there will be several formats for presenting innovate uses of technology in education. \u00a0In addition to one- and two-hour sessions, we&#8217;re including venues for\u00a0short and sweet sharing:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Soapbox<\/strong>: \u00a0Open microphone sessions held in the spirit of a TED Talk or Ignite event, where participants will be given five minutes to share an idea, a project, a discovery, or an innovation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: .25in;\"><strong>iPad smackdown<\/strong>:\u00a0 Open microphone sessions, where participants will be given five minutes to share an app<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: .25in;\">Breakout session presenters will be provided complimentary conference registration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: .25in;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The conference will offer 12 conference strands: <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strand #1: \u00a0 EthnoTech \u00a0(Technology in Culture Based Learning)<\/li>\n<li>Strand #2: \u00a0#FollowMe \u00a0(Social Media)<\/li>\n<li>Strand #3: \u00a0 Game On! \u00a0(Game Based Learning)<\/li>\n<li>Strand #4: \u00a0 Grooving with Google<\/li>\n<li>Strand #5: \u00a0 I&#8217;d Like to Teach the World to Ping \u00a0(Global Education)<\/li>\n<li>Strand #6: \u00a0 Learning On the Go \u00a0(Mobile Learning &amp; Device Management)<\/li>\n<li>Strand #7: \u00a0 Splendid Blended Learning \u00a0(Blended Online Learning)<\/li>\n<li>Strand #8: \u00a0 Techno Tykes \u00a0(Technology in Early Childhood)<\/li>\n<li>Strand #9: \u00a0 That&#8217;s Very Pinteresting \u00a0(Curated Learning)<\/li>\n<li>Strand #10: \u00a0Up for the Challenge \u00a0(Challenge Based Learning)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left: .25in;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Proposal submission instructions\/information<\/span><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Submission process opens: February 4, 2012<\/li>\n<li>Submission process closes\/deadline: <strong>March 8, 2012<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>To apply\/submit proposals, please go to:\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/s\/kukulu2013\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/s\/kukulu2013<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Acceptance notifications sent out to applicants: <strong>By March 31, 2012<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Applicants should indicate in the \u201cAvailability\u201d dropdown menu whether they are available to present on June 4, or June 5, or both days.<\/li>\n<li>Upon evaluation by our conference committee, we will contact you as a follow up by March 31.
