{"id":394,"date":"2012-05-16T16:38:22","date_gmt":"2012-05-17T02:38:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogsksbeedu.wpenginepowered.com\/edtechconference2012\/?page_id=394"},"modified":"2012-05-16T16:38:22","modified_gmt":"2012-05-17T02:38:22","slug":"working-smarter-with-smart-tools","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/edtechconference2012\/working-smarter-with-smart-tools\/","title":{"rendered":"Working SMARTer with SMART Tools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Presentation<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Creating Content Using Online Tools<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In this presentation, I will show teachers how to access the SMART Exchange (through the SMART Technologies website) and search, review, and download Notebook lessons to use in the classroom with their SMART Board.\u00a0 I will also show teachers how Notebook lessons can be modified to customize it to the needs of their students.\u00a0 Teachers are welcome to bring their laptops\/flashdrives to bookmark websites, search, download, and share lessons.\u00a0 I will be happy to share any Notebook lesson(s), file(s), or resources I have as well.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Terri Trevathan<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Maunawili Elementary School<\/strong><br \/>\nMy name is Terri Trevathan and I am the Technology Coordinator at Maunawili Elementary School.\u00a0 I have been teaching for seventeen years and have taught elementary grades from kindergarten to sixth grade, in both Hawai\u2019i and North Carolina.\u00a0 I have always had an interest in integrating technology with all subject areas.\u00a0 My interest in technology was sparked when I was teaching in North Carolina and was given the opportunity to teach with a SMART board and responders.\u00a0 When I moved back to Hawai\u2019i in 2006, I encouraged our Technology Coordinator to explore the possibility to bringing SMART Technologies products to Maunawili Elementary School.\u00a0 Today, we have a SMART board in every classroom from Kindergarten to sixth grade.\u00a0 I have also recently obtained a Masters in Education degree from the University of Hawaii.
