{"id":358,"date":"2012-05-16T15:36:13","date_gmt":"2012-05-17T01:36:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogsksbeedu.wpenginepowered.com\/edtechconference2012\/?page_id=358"},"modified":"2012-06-04T16:13:06","modified_gmt":"2012-06-05T02:13:06","slug":"educating-student-global-leaders","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/blogs.ksbe.edu\/edtechconference2012\/educating-student-global-leaders\/","title":{"rendered":"Educating Student Global Leaders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Presentation<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Teaching in a Global World<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Organized in 2010 around the theme of water, and energy for 2011, the Student Global Leadership Institute builds on four decades of global studies at Punahou School.\u00a0 The Institute\u2019s mission is to develop international youth leaders committed to common global challenges seeking to effect positive social change.\u00a0 Learn how an intensive on-site two-week summer program hosted at Punahou School with mentor teachers, and ensuing student-led projects engage communities and creates a cohort utilizing online networks.\u00a0 Take away useful and exciting activities, project design ideas and approaches.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chai Reddy<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Punahou School<\/strong><br \/>\nChai graduated with a BA in History from Lake Forest College (2001) and an MA Humanities\/Classical Studies from John Carroll University (2006).\u00a0 He taught for one year in the Philadelphia area, four years in the Cleveland area, and is now in his sixth year at Punahou.\u00a0 He has taught Economics and a number of world history courses, served as Curriculum Resource Teacher to help teachers with curriculum and professional development, as well as an assistant coach to the varsity football team.
