Inform7 is a free tool that allows kids to create text-based adventure games using a programming language that is easy to learn and understand. Discover how we used Inform7 with fourth graders and high schoolers, implementing a game design framework modeled after the real world, to engage them in a rich design process that promoted deep learning and understanding.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Douglas Kiang<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Punahou School<\/strong><br \/>\nDouglas Kiang is a Curriculum Resource Teacher at Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii. Douglas holds an Ed.M. in Technology, Innovation and Education from Harvard and has over twenty years of teaching experience at the elementary, middle and high school levels. He is the author of several bestselling game strategy guides and is an Apple Distinguished Educator.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mary Kiang<\/strong><br \/>\nMary Kiang is an independent educator with over twenty years of teaching experience at the elementary school level, and holds a Master\u2019s Degree in Elementary Education from Simmons College. A gamer since childhood, she has published game reviews, and written game strategy guides for Prima Publishing. She is also an educational game workshop facilitator and professional game beta tester.
