\nAdrian Allan is the President of Le Jardin Academy, which is currently the only school in Hawaii authorized to offer all three International Baccalaureate Programmes.\u00a0 He has worked with schools in Uk, Finland, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Norway and now in Hawaii.\u00a0 He has been involved in the establishment of two International Baccalaureate Schools and created one of this program’s first online programs which allowed schools to collaborate in the instruction of student mother tongue instruction.\u00a0 He presented on the topic of Internet ethics at the IB World School Heads’ Conference in Singapore.<\/p>\n

\nLiz Castillo is a 7th grade science teacher at Kamehameha Schools Kapalama Middle School.\u00a0 She has been teaching middle school for 13 years in both public and private schools and also has experience as a technology resource teacher helping both teachers and students to effectively use technology tools.\u00a0 Liz is passionate about using technology with students to help them communicate, collaborate, and connect with others.\u00a0 Liz was honored to be named an Apple Distinguished Educator (2009), a Siemens STEM Fellow (2010), an Edmodo Featured Blogger (2011), and a member of the Apple CBL Advisory Board (2012).<\/p>\n

Nani Daniels<\/strong>

\nApple Inc. Area Manager, K12 Education, State of Hawaii. After working and living in Silicon Valley during the boom and bubble bursting days, Nani returned to Hawai\u2019i to with her family to work for Apple \u2013 again. Nani was at Apple in the late 80\u2019s and 90s before going to a start up called Netscape. Wanting to try her hand at another start up, she then worked at a DSL company when dial-up connections were de riguer.
\nFulfilling a goal of returning to Hawai\u2019i to work for a high tech company while doing something meaningful, Nani is back with Apple working with K12 Educators on ways to integrate technology into teaching and learning for the benefit of Hawai\u2019i\u2019s 21st century keiki!<\/p>\n

Join Noe as she shares how she migrated her students from conventional methods of capturing information and creating books (scrap book style) to a completely digital format using mobile and other technology tools.

\nElizabeth Garrison is an educator with a passion for technology and creativity. As an Adobe Certified Expert and a member of The Training Associates, Elizabeth has spent the last seventeen years teaching technology to working professionals and students in the classroom and at conferences. Currently, Elizabeth is the Program Leader for the Kailua Catholic Community of Learners, which is part of The Schools of the Future Initiative and she teaches technology at St. Anthony School in Kailua, Hawaii where she launched an electronic portfolio program in 2009.<\/p>\n

\nKye Haina has taught language arts for 14 years, the past seven at Kamehameha Schools Maui in Pukalani, Hawai\u2019i, where she teaches language arts, including journalism.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The school newspaper, which she has advised since its founding, has won district and state awards annually, including Best Newspaper in the State for the 2010-11 school year.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A graduate of the Kamehameha Schools Kap\u0101lama campus, Ms. Haina also has a bachelor\u2019s degree from California State University, Fullerton, and a master\u2019s degree in instructional technology from Grand Canyon University. She also holds a California teaching credential for English, a Cross-cultural Language and Academic Development certificate, and is a graduate of the 2008 American Society of News Editors Reynolds Institute.<\/p>\n

Mark Hines<\/strong>

\nMark Hines holds\u00a0 a BS in Physics, a Masters in Educational Technology and is an Educational Technology doctoral student at the University of Hawaii. He has taught Science, Math and Technology for 30 years and\u00a0 coached high school canoe paddling for 20 years. He is passionate about teaching, learning and the future of education. Mark consults and presents locally and nationally on issues of technology in education and school transformation.
\nHe is a recipient of the Presidential Award for Math and Science Teaching,\u00a0 a National Tandy Technology Scholar , and a Pacific Technology Foundation Technology Educator of the Year. He serves as a planning member of the Schools of the Future initiative for Hawaii Independent Schools. He is the president of the Hawaii Society for Technology in Education.\u00a0 In his position as Educational Technology Director at Mid-Pacific Institute, Mark oversees the planning, development and implementation of technology for teachers, staff and students.<\/p>\n

\nLiana Iaea-Honda is currently a trainer evaluator at the Kamehameha Schools Hawai\u02bbi Elementary School. Previously, she served as the technology teacher for students grades K-5. In addition, she is a Hawaiian language and culture educator, a published author and song composer. She has worked for Kamehameha for more than 20 years. She is a mother of four children and resides in Pa\u02bbauilo with her husband and a menagerie of animals.<\/p>\n

\nLynne Horiuchi is an Instructional Technology Specialist at the Kamehameha Schools Kapalama campus, assigned to the elementary division. Prior to coming to Kamehameha 4 years ago Lynne worked for many years at St. Louis School as a Social Science teacher, department chair and director of technology.\u00a0 Her areas of expertise are mobile learning and digital citizenship. Lynne collaboratively develops & implements innovative technology integration projects with KS Kapalama elementary school teachers.<\/p>\n

\nWendi Kamiya is the chief information officer for Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii.\u00a0 She is currently on the advisory board for the Education Research Initiative and on the planning team for the Punahou School Student Global Leadership Institute which brings students from around the world to form a cohort of future global leaders seeking to create positive social change.\u00a0 She also serves on the board of Kanu Hawaii, a non-profit group seeking to build a sustainable, self-resilient and compassionate community starting in Hawaii.\u00a0 Wendi holds a B.A. in Business Administration and M.B.A. from the University of Hawaii.<\/p>\n

Dr. Dan has over fifteen years of public school experience as a former math and computer math teacher, technology administrator, and he served for five years as Superintendent of Schools in Colorado.\u00a0 He received his bachelor’s degrees from the University of Texas at Austin in Math and Psychology, and his masters in educational administration.\u00a0 He was a fellow in the eighth cycle of the Cooperative Superintendency Program at UT and received his doctorate in educational administration in 1991.\u00a0 Dan joined Apple in June of 1996, and has served as an education technology consultant working with district, state and legislative leaders related to strategies and policies for school improvement through technology integration.

\nSusan Jill Pridemore attended the University of Texas at Austin. She was involved in an art therapy mentoring project for abused and neglected young people in both Texas and Minnesota. She later transitioned into working for a web development company in Minneapolis. She currently works as a video editor and studio manager on Maui. Since co-founding Jungle to Jungle, she has created over 18 original science education videos for the project. She is also the tech coordinator of the project.<\/p>\n

Dr. Dwayne Priester<\/strong>

\nDr. Dwayne E. Priester is currently the Middle School Principal at Mid-Pacific Institute in Honolulu, Hawaii.\u00a0 As an educator for more than 24 years, his experience ranges from teaching middle and high school Social Studies to an adjunct professor at Northern Arizona University’s College of Education. During the past two years, he was invited and traveled to work with schools across the U.S. and in China to implement 21st century instructional models including Web 2.0.\u00a0 Dr. Priester is deeply passionate about relevant instructional change and uncompromisingly committed to ensuring that both faculty and students are adaptable in preparation to meet the challenges of our ever-evolving world.<\/p>\n

\nGeorge Sowell currently serves as the Senior Manager for Enterprise Planning and Architecture at Kamehameha Schools (KS). He currently serves on the US and International Technical Boards of the Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF) Association and helps lead work on updating the Global Data Model. He has over 20 years experience in IT management and governance.<\/p>\n

\nMy name is Terri Trevathan and I am the Technology Coordinator at Maunawili Elementary School.\u00a0 I have been teaching for seventeen years and have taught elementary grades from kindergarten to sixth grade, in both Hawai’i and North Carolina.\u00a0 I have always had an interest in integrating technology with all subject areas.\u00a0 My interest in technology was sparked when I was teaching in North Carolina and was given the opportunity to teach with a SMART board and responders.\u00a0 When I moved back to Hawai’i in 2006, I encouraged our Technology Coordinator to explore the possibility to bringing SMART Technologies products to Maunawili Elementary School.\u00a0 Today, we have a SMART board in every classroom from Kindergarten to sixth grade.\u00a0 I have also recently obtained a Masters in Education degree from the University of Hawaii. I conducted research at Maunawili Elementary and focused my Plan B paper on supporting teachers in their utilization of new technologies in the classroom.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Katie Skinner Wiederholt is a Product Specialist at Dell KACE, which is a leading system\u2019s management appliance company.\u00a0\u00a0 She is a Punahou Alumni with a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Math from University of California, Santa Barbara.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She has been in the high-tech industry for over 20 years in various development, software testing and sales roles.\u00a0 At KACE, she handles all of the K-12, Higher Education and Government accounts for Hawaii, California and Arizona.\u00a0 She currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area but her parents live in Kaneohe and she visits frequently.

\nAmanda Li Wilson graduated from the University of Southern California with a specialized interdisciplinary BA entitled \u201cChildhood and ADHD\u201d. Long involved in tutoring and mentoring, she is currently teaching at Kihei Charter School in Maui and continuing her education at University of Hawaii Manoa. After co-founding Jungle to Jungle in March 2009, she has had the opportunity to connect students in Maui and the Big Island to students in Peru, Colombia, and Malaysia. She heads up the curriculum side of the Jungle to Jungle project.<\/p>\n
