Aloha e KS Hawai’i Faculty,
I am available to help you back up your data to your external drive before you turn in your laptop. To help manage the day I am requesting that you contact me so that we can schedule an appointment that works for you.
All KS faculty are responsible for backing their data, which includes but is not limited to, word processing files, lesson plans and resources, photos, music, videos, bookmarks, archives and customized test, to an external drive prior to turning in their laptop each year. Files should be backed up prior to turning in your laptop for re-imaging or repair. All of the contents on your computer will be erased when it is re-imaged.

External Drive
Although you can use CDs, DVD’s, jump drives or your KS faculty Account, an external drive with at least 250 gb of storage space is recommended, and runs about $90. What you use will depend on how much storage space you need.
KS Faculty Account
Your KS faculty account (your H: drive) on the server will store 2 gb of data, but will not store multimedia files, such as, music and movies.
Confirm Transfer
Regardless of where you back up your data, you should be sure to double check that your data has transferred over correctly, by checking the file/folder size and comparing it to the file/folder on your laptop.
** All existing data will be deleted from your computer(s) **
