Flip Camera Tutorial and an ETS Staff Introduction

I would like to introduce you, virtually, to Nate Javellana who is the author of this online tutorial. Nate taught science at Kapalama Middle School, and likes to go by “N8″ online, or by “Uncle N8″ to his students.  We at ETS very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Nate, this year. Although Nate will be working with ETS-i to support Kapalama Middle School, we will all have the opportunity to benefit from his knowledge and his experience.

Nate is a very active blogger and has already posted a “ETS Flip Cam Quick Tip” tutorial with a PDF handout, created by Renee Teraoka Kapalama Middle School Computer Lab Kumu, and two supporting video clips to help you get up and running with importing your FlipCam Files to iMovie.

Kamehameha Schools Hawaii – 2008 Service Awards

August 11th, 2008 by Chandell Asuncion

Today we came together for our Annual Service Awards Breakfast to celebrate the achievements and service of our fellow employees. We are so fortunate to be celebrating 340 years of combined service to Kamehameha Schools and Pauahi’s legacy. Today we came together to share prayers, food, laughter, hugs, makana and memories. Our esteemed campus techie and photographer Kerry Kamisato was awarded with a 20 year service award and was able to share this very special view of the service awards ceremony.

Left Wave
Laughter shook the room when Kerry entered the stage, gave everyone a hug, and then took his place in the reserved chair and began taking pictures.

Right Wave
We are blessed to be among special people, with generous hearts, and a vision of success.

Phil at his best
Our industrious leader and on-call in-house comedian Mr. Phil Aganus made us temporarily leave all our worries behind as we were sucked in to his presentation. We enjoyed a morning full-of-laughter.

Beginner’s Guide to Blu-Ray

August 9th, 2008 by Chandell Asuncion

“Simply put, Blu-ray is yet another video format, just like VHS, Beta, and DVD. It’s actually part of a third wave of mass-market video formats: in the 1980s, we got VHS and Beta video tapes (with VHS eventually winning out over Beta), DVD discs arrived in the mid- to late-90s, and now, in the mid-2000s, we have Blu-ray (along with its just-vanquished competitor, HD DVD).”
