What a wonderful time we had last week celebrating the talent of our students! Here are just a few pictures from that night. I was so proud of the dancers. They worked very hard.

My Hopes and Dreams

My hope for the second half of the year is that our technology classroom will be a caring place where students will do their best work.

What is your hope for the rest of the school year?

A video from our friends in Maine!

Have you ever wondered what Christmas is like in a place that is cold and filled with snow?

Well, our friends in Maine made us a great video that talks about what Christmas is like in Maine. Maine is all the way on the East Coast of the United States.

Do you see any similarities or differences in the way they celebrate in Maine and the things you did for Christmas?

Fun with Apps

Today the third graders had some fun with the app “Comic Book.”

When you are using technology all kinds of things can be tricky or go wrong.  We know we are all computer superheroes because we are here to help each other!

Kumu Crabbe and Fifth Graders Share our Culture

During the last week of school Kumu Crabbe and the fifth graders were able to share different aspects of the Hawaiian culture with a small group of native Cree students in Canada. The fifth graders, led by Kumu Crabbe, shared some basic Hula steps and performed a couple of dances for the Canadian students. It was a wonderful way to end the year long of sharing and learning that we have had using a variety of technology tools. We are so lucky that we have such amazing tools at our fingertips that make it possible for us to share with other people from all over the world.

Take a look at our last Skype session of the year:

Fantistic Friendships

After a discussion about the importance of friendship in technology class, two of our fifth grade boys were inspired to create a video about their friendship. The video turned out to be so awesome I just had to share it here! Check it out:
