I think that sports heroes should be role models because young people watch what they do and look up to them. If their fans see that the person that they look up to is doing illegal things, then the fans might stop believing in them, or they might start to doing bad things too. But if their fans see the role model doing good actions, then the fans might start to do good themselves.
So if you’re a sports hero, someone probably looks up to you and watches what you do. You have to be a role model for your fans. You might as well do good actions so your fans can follow .
I think sports heroes should be role models because lots of kids around the world are thinking ” I want to be just like him”. My role model was Alex Rodriguez because I thought he was an outstanding 3rd baseman and great hitter so I wanted to be just like him. When they tested him positive for steroids I couldn’t believe that my sport heroes was a cheater. Sports heroes need to be accountable for their actions just like everyone else. They need to be aware that young people look up to them and if they cheat then are setting the example that cheating is okay. If they play fair, they teach young people that hard work and determination make you into a better person. They should set the example of doing good things like playing fair, being a good sport, and be good on the field as well as off the field.
My opinon about if sports heroes should be role models is yes sports heroes should be role models because people like Barry Bonds because he is very good in hitting wise because I think he made at least 762 home runs. Some kids want to be just like him or even make more home runs then he did, so what they will do is just like how Barry Bonds made home runs by taking steroids they will think that it is ok to take steroids and then play in a game. It is just like monkey see monkey do. Even though Barry Bonds was not that good of being a good role model for kids and adults it does not mean that all the good sports heros cheated it just means that they all work hard 100% they all play as a team, and they all try there best and put there best effort in whatever they do. Cheating does not make you a better person so if you want to follow someone in there footsteps follow someone who tries there best and puts there best effort in to there work. Everyone makes mistakes so it is ok if you make a mistake everyone does even porfesionals so as long as you try your best you are sure to be the best you can be!
I think that sports heroes should be role models because kids all over the world see them on TV and want to be like them. If those kids saw their favorite athlete cheat on his wife or smoke marijuana they might think it’s cool and start to do bad things themselves. It’s like how smoking was back then. They used to show commercials on how cool it was to smoke. If you went to schools in the 80’s teenagers would be smoking like crazy because everyone else was doing it.
I know it might be hard to believe but they are regular people just like you and me. You can’t expect them to be perfect. It is bad to do those things but people make mistakes. That’s what life is. You make a mistake, get up, and try again. Overall I think they should try to make good choices. But if they don’t you shouldn’t take it so bad because things like this happen everyday.
I believe that sports heroes should be role models because young kids need someone to look up to. Sometimes a kid needs someone to look up to because they need to have a motive to get better but if there role model does bad things then that is what the kid might do when they get older. I think sports heroes need to know that millions of kids look up to them so if they do something bad, they should know that they are hurting a lot of kids. I never really had a sport role model because I do not watch a lot of pro sports. I heard of Kobe Bryant, I thought he was just a great basketball player but then I heard he almost when to jail for life because he cheated on his wife and the woman accused him of sexual assault. I know that a lot of sports heroes can do bad things and I want other kids to know that every person, even if they are a sport hero they can make mistakes so don’t copy everything they do. STAY ORIGINAL!
I think that sports heroes should be role models because everybody needs someone to look up to to be great. You can look at any good athlete and they all had a role model. Like Lebron James, his role models were Jason Kidd and Michael Jordan. Everybody might think I’m a bad person because I like Kobe Bryant but I look up to Kobe as a basketball player, not a person. Also I like Kobe because he is on the Lakers. I was raised to be a Laker fan!!! So if Kobe left the Lakers, I would still be a laker fan.
I think sport heroes should be role models because of how good they play a sport or what kind of sport they play. I donʻt think sport heroes should be role models in the are of their social life or their attitudes.
I think it is okay for people to look up to sport heroes but if that hero does something bad then the people should know not to follow that, but still look up to them because of how they play. We should know that they are just people that have a talent.
