Why Is a Woman’s Salary Lower Than a Man’s?
New research by the American Association of University Women Educational Foundation shows that just one year out of college, women working full-time earn only 80 percent of their male colleagues’ salaries, even when they work in the same field. Ten years after graduation, the pay gap widens, with women earning 69 percent of what men earn.
Why do you think this is so?

I think that men’s salaries are higher because when people starting learning about the bible and how Adam and Eve were the first people here on earth. The story of Adam And Eve is that before Eve came it was just Adam, and Adam was all alone so God sent Eve. Sometimes just because men were on the earth before women that made the men more powerful or more smarter than women.
No, because just because men were here before women that doesn’t make them any better. Just because I score a higher grade than someone that doesn’t make me any better than them at all.
I would stand up for my rights. I would say to someone you, me, and him all work hard and long in the same field but what makes him so much more special that he gets to be paid more? If I work harder than him why does he get to be paid more than me, why is he so important that he would get paid more than me?

I think a men’s salary is higher than a woman’s salary because men were more domaite then girls back then and so they made up mandkind ( man-kind) instead of ladykind, and scince they have man kind the people thought maybe that men are better.
I think that it’s not fair because everyone is saying oh nlets go to America because they have equal rights and the treat everyone equally. Wll guss what, the don’t they lied and thats messed up. I think we all shoud really be treated equally. Because if a boy and a girl have the same job for the same company and the boy is bad at the job but the girl is good at the job just because the boy is a boy dosen’t mean the boy should get paid more.

I think this is so, because before, this was a male dominant country. So, now, people don’t want to make change:( (ecspecially men).
No, I think men and women should be paid equally.
Back then, women worked harder than men. They cooked and did all the house work. 
So why do men get paid more?
In order to stop this situation, I would protest. I would also tell a lot of people about this issue(strength in numbers). I would ask my boss why one of my men co-workers is paid more than me and I work harder.

I think that a man’s salary is higher than a women’s salary because in the colonial times the men worked in the fields and plowed and the women stayed home and took care of the little children. Some people think it’s easier to take care of children, cook and clean, take care of all the ting around the house well their wrong it’s just as hard to do those things as it is to plow the fields and do farm work, all of the work is providing for the family. Another reason is that a long time ago only the boys were allowed to go to school. I think that men are afraid of the unknown I think they are afraid that if women get the oppertunity they will end up smarter then men and make a different government.
I don’t think that the men should be paid more then women. How would you like it if you were working super hard while the person you worked with was lazy and didn’t do anything and the person you worked with still got paid more than you? I didn’ think so. If you look at words that refer to humans like mankind, history, even women has the word men or him or his in it it’s un-fair.
I would say something let people know what was going on and try and change things. I would tell people prefribly girls “We work just as hard the men and sometimes harder. We deserve a fair salary.” And it’s true we should stick up for our rights and say something try and change things.

Well because the people that are paying are eithier is thinks that this world is still a man domanait socitity or there pruegeds about women.
I don’t think it is fair that men get paid more than a woman even if the woman is working harder than the man. I think Mr. Chung said that they get 30% or 40% or something like that. They cut so much money. So if you getting a 100$ a day then a woman would only get 60$ or 70$.
I was a boss of a company than I would give a women some more chance to prove there better than a men a if there are then I would give them more money. And I really do think that girl do work harder than men.

I think that a man’s salary is higher than a womans salary because men are mostlikely to be stronger, smarter, and basicly more boss like. Also back in the calonial times the men were the main providers of the family. he provided the food, money, and all that jazz. And the woman just sewed clothing and just cooked the food.
I think that men and women should be payed the same aount of money because we are all humans and woman can do the things that men can do so they should be treated equaly especialy if the woman work hader than the men! It’s like the golden rule, TREAT OTHERS THE WAY THE WAY YOU WANT TO BE TREATED!
I would go to court and potition agenst men getting payed more then women or I would write a letter to the president of the United States Of America. And ask him to please place himself in the woman’s shoes and give them a chance.

Women get paid a lower salery because males were and still is the dominate race. Like African-Americans and white men, the same thing, the dominate race gets treated more better and more likely, more richer. People thought the dominate race should be men because they thought that the men were stronger and the women were weak and could not do as much. That’s why in the olden days the men would go out and hunt for food while women take care of the easy stuff like cook and clean.
I think that this was tottaly unfair because women could as much or more than males. So they should all be equal. If I could change this, I would, like if I was a manager. I would give every person that’s in the same division, I would give everybody the same salaries.

I think a man’s salary is higher than a woman’s is because in colonial times, men had higher salaries because most woman did not even work. While men worked in fields, women stayed at home and took care of the children. So maybe men thought that it would stay that way but no, the woman are now getting the same oportunities as men because they are just as capable. Now the people that are against that fact of women equality, can only do one thing, keep women’s salary low, so the men can still feel greater and “bring home most of the bacon.”
I do not think this is fair because women can do all the same things as men if they put there minds to it and I know that some women already work harder and are just as intelligent (if not more) so why do they get payed less?
I would try to convince people to believe that its unfair, then I would tell them to tell other peole and then hopefully a greater number of people will believe in the problem and solve it.

I think that a man’s salary is larger than a woman’s salary because back before our time the world was a man dominite society. In colonial times while men were busy discussing about politics the women were at home taking care of the children, cleaning the house, making clothes for the family and preparing dinner for the whole family. Some things I noticed back in the colonial times is that the girls went to school but only for a little while, but the boys stayed in school to learn and become independent individual and a hard worker. Back then men were only allowed to vote. Today and back then only men were the presidents, men are like the boss of us!
I don’t think this is fair because, if a women works harder then a man then the women deserves to get more money. Even though it was a man dominate society it’s today not back then. God made us all the same!! Even though men are usually the boss, the women work hard to support her family and deserve credit for working hard.
First I would protest for the rights of the women because it’s not fair, for example when the segregation was happening the blacks had less priorities then the white. The women are like the blacks they don’t get the same amount of money (or priorities) then the men do. I would ask other women if they knew if this was happening and if they didn’t know then I would give them more information about this problem and get together to protest and get some rights back. Men and all the people around the world should think and say what if a widow had a job, and she wasn’t getting enough money to support her family what would she do struggle for the rest of her life, but if she got the same payment as a man she would be able to afford everything she couldn’t before. We should treat everyone the same!!!

I think a man’s salary is higher then a woman’s salary because peoples paradigms are that men are stronger and superior. Before in America (Colonial times) men were thought to have done the harder work like working in the fields and other things, so people thought that men were more valuable. People still think men are better then woman, it’s not their fault because it’s their paradigm. It will take a few more generations to change the way people think about women’s inferiority.
I think a man shouldn’t have any better rights then a woman. I believe the person that works harder, deserves their fair rewards. For example, if I’m doing a poor job and a female worker is hard at work, I shouldn’t be paid more just because I’m a male.
If anyone of us becomes an owner of a company we should take a moment to think if we should reward people because of their gender or race, or should we reward people who do good work? A good example of unfair rewards is if there is a female teacher who gives all the girls A+ and the boys C’s because their girls. That not fair either.

I think men’s salary is more than a women’s salary because men were thought of as more useful than women. Another reason could be because men are seen to be stronger, smarter, etc. Different people control different jobs and so the owners might think the world is still dominated by men or they could just be sexist.
I do not think this is fair because women work just as hard as men but the owners of different jobs might think the world is still dominated by men or they could just be sexist.

I believe that men have a higher salary because some people believe that men can do a better job than women. It may also be because that the boss may think that men are greater, physically and mentally.
I really don’t believe that this is fair because a women can work twice as hard and still get paid less. It isn’t right that people think that some people are better than others due to being a different gender.
I would first allow others to know of this economic situation.

I think that the woman get paid a lower salary then men because owners might think that the woman will have to take a break to raise kids and the company could go behind in their work. Even though that might not happen they would still pick the man for the job because that’s their perception. Sometimes the owner of the company might give the man more money because supposedly men are the people who are suppose to be the primary income to the family and take care of them.
I think that this is not fair because women work just as hard as men and should get paid the same too. Men are not the only ones who take care of the family.

I think that men tend to get paid more than women because men are naturally more aggressive than women. It makes them push harder to get to the top and be the best, no matter what the cost sometimes. Men are more dominant than women which makes them want to be in control over everything not just women.
so they could be a manly girl (Ha Ha). Not really, just kidding about the not really. Fo real, I’m seriously not joking. I think women should stand up for their rights. The work world should give women a chance to prove themselves that they can earn the same pay based on ability and not on gender.
I don’t think it is fair for men to get paid more than women. I think that people should get paid by ability of what they are doing and not based on gender. This is being prejudice against women (genderism).

I think that men get paid more than women because from the beginning of the human race. Some people thought that men were just naturally stronger, smarter and they had the authority to control whatever they could. It’s just apart of that person even if they don’t know it is.
I don’t think this is fair because women work just as hard as men and maybe even better. During the time of WWII all of the men were fighting in the war. What were they women doing? They were working and taking care of jobs that men usually did and they had to take care of their kids too. I think they deserve more credit then America is giving them.
To change this situation I would tell women to stand up for their rights and not be afraid to fight for what you truly deserve.

I think Women have a lower salary than men is because the world is mostly under men superieority, and so people think that men should get a higher salary than women. In the same job a man will get more money than a woman doing the same job but better than the man doing the job and the man would most likley get the higher salary than the woman doing her job better than the man.
I do not think this is fair because I don’t get the difference between a boy and a girl it is like being imature about someones gender in a job, and they think men are better than women but I think male or female they are still human beings which gives women the right to be treated as equal as men.
I think I would try to inform as much people I can in my power so people will know of this situation and maybe will spread to a person that can get to any government and inform them of this situation.

I think this is so because men took charge in most of the families houses. Men also hunt for food for their families, sewn clothes, and paid bills. But I don’t know how men are supposedly “better” than woman. It just doesn’t make any sense at all and why did woman not get a good education!?!?!!??
I do not think this is fair because woman have the same ability as a man and sometimes better. In America everyone is equal! Yeah right! America makes me sick! BLAAAAAAAA!!!!! America LIED to all of their Citizens!!!

I think that women are paid less than men because men take on more of the responsibilities in the house. They do the fixing, sometimes construction and other things. I’m not trying to insult the women but they kind of do the average stuff like shopping, and other things. Men also are the leaders or the dominate people of the house. They usually do the buisness.
I also think that men are paid more because they get recognized more for their work. I’m not trying to insult women but men just tend to be more in the spotlight while women just do the job.
It depends on if it’s fair or not. If the men or husband is the dominate person who takes care of everything, I think it is fair. But if the women or wife does all the work and is the dominate person, I would rather have that woman get paid more.
What I would do to change this situation is I would kind of spread the word through the internet. It really helps to get the word around and everyone notified. Someeone besides me could have a complaint and find ways to find a way to fix it.

I think that men tend to get paid more then women, because back in Colonial times men would do more of the serious work like the fields, craft, and more. So that paradigm probaly carried on to now. In Colonial times they had said that men were the more supirour then women, so in that case women would be treated diffrerently then the men. Today, Mr. Chung shared to the class that men could work the same job as a women and have less ability in that field and they would still get paid more. To me that just is not fair. America has a reputation of everyone has an equal amount of rights, yea right!!!!????!!???
No, of course I do not think that is fair. It’s completely unfair. Because number 1: just because there men does not mean they are working harder then a woman sometimes the person that is in charge of how much they get paid is probaly playing favorites with there own gender. And if the two genders are working equaly then they should have an equal amount of pay. Thats what it is all about not the genders.
I would make a potistion and have people sign it, if they agree with what I am against.

I think that men get paid more than women because peoples paradigms were that men had a more higher position in society because God made men before women and therefore men should be placed higher in society than women.
I do not think it is fair because the man and the women are doing the same job and doing it with the same ability and there doing the same thing.
I think I would try to persuade other companies to pay women the same amount that they pay men for the same job.
