I think I am interested about how John McCain would drink, gamble, and chase women because you wouldn’t expect a dark past from someone you hear good things about because he was in the navy. What also shocked me was that after he got back from Vietnam, he still drank, gambled, and had not only chased women but had affairs with them too.
I would like to ask him how he would take action on the war going on in Iraq right now? If someone doesn’t put a stop to the war, it will keep going on and we will keep fighting and so will they. Also, if the war keeps going on, we will keep sending soldiers in and out of Iraq. I know how it feels to almost lose someone because I never got to see my cousin for many months and holidays when he was fighting in the war.
McCain is different from Obama because Obama never really had a dad and McCain had the same dad he knew for his whole life. They also don’t belong to the same political party. McCain’s parents never got a divorce, and McCain was married twice and Obama only got married once.
Common things are McCain and Obama graduated from good schools, they both have at least one daughter, they always had the same mom for their whole life, they both have one sister who is younger than them, and they have wives at this time.

I would ask John McCain what it was like to be a prisoner of war and why didn’t he leave when they gave him a chance to leave early.
A way that John McCain and Barack Obama are different is their childhood because Barack Obama saw poverty and beggars on the street, while John McCain grew up around the military.
Some ways that they are the same are they both are hard working and they both wanted to help the world.

John McCain’s past interests me because he survived the Vietnam War. He was also able to survive being a prisoner of war.
I would ask McCain how it felt to survive the Vietnam War and being a prisoner of war.
The candidates are different because Obama wasn’t a prisoner of war but McCain was.
The candidates are the same because they both did drugs and they both now have children.
October 1st, 2008 at 3:54 pm
My interest in John McCain is that McCain went to the Vietnam War whichh was really not supposed to happen. This interests me because it must have been scary to go to war when you are at the age of eighteen and it must have been terrifying to be a prisoner of war and have your plane crash.
A question I would like to ask McCain is “How did you feel about being drafted and how did you survive the time when your plane got hit by a missile by accident and it went on fire?”
Some ways the candidates are different is that McCain had two wives and Obama had one. Another thing is that McCain went to war and Obama didn’t. Obama is liberal while McCain is conservative. The candidates are the same because they both did drugs. They both have wives and they both have something interesting about their families like Obama experienced his mom being White and his dad being Black and McCain’s family often experienced war.

John McCain’s past interests me because when he was a prisoner of war and the Vietnamese never killed him because he was an important guy. I mean he is important!!
I would like to ask why John did not listen to his teachers in military school? It’s military school for crying out loud! You had a chance when you were our age!
Barack Obama is Black and a democrat and John McCain is White and a republican. Also, McCain is older than Obama.
A way that the two are the same is they are both running for president and they both have a wife.

John McCain’s past interests me because he was in the Vietnam War and he was a prisoner of the Vietnamese. He knows how to lead our country into peace and not war because of his experiences.
I would like to ask John how it felt when he came home to America because being tortured for over 5 years would make me crack, but he never gave up and he came back to a friendly place.
Barack Obama is Black and he is 47 years old. John McCain is White and he is 73 years old.
Both of them are in a major party and they both have a family.

I think the interesting things about John McCain is that he smoked and that he didn’t die in the Vietnam War. The thing that was funny is when they showed the video to say he was ok and he was smoking. Can you believe it! He was smoking! I would ask him how he got out of the bombed plane and if he thought he was lucky.
I think the candidates are different in that John McCain’s parents didn’t get divorced and he went to war. They are the same by they both smoked and they both quit smoking.

What interests me the most about John McCain’s past is that he fought in the Vietnam War. It interests me because at least a quarter of solders that fight in wars die and he wasn’t one of them.
What also interests me in John McCain’s past is that he had four years of drinking, smoking, gambling and chasing girls. Also he did that after he returned after the war! That surprises me a lot because usually you would think that a candidate or a person running for a high ranking place wouldn’t do things that makes people think you’re bad.
I would like to ask John McCain three questions. What was it like to be a prisoner of war? Why did you sacrifice your release for your friends that were stuck in that camp? If you started your life again, what would you do differently?
Some ways that the two candidates are different are:
1) Barack Obama is Black and John McCain is White.
2) Barack Obama is a Democrat and John McCain is a Republican.
3) Barack Obama has not participated in a war and John McCain has.
4) Barack Obama never knew his dad until a reunion. John McCain knows his dad really well.
Some ways that the two canidates are alike are:
1) Barack Obama and John McCain are in a major party.
2) They both lived through problems like drinking and gambling.
3) They both were senators.
4) They both are running for the presidency.

I think that it is interesting that John McCain was a prisoner of war in Vietnam during the Vietnam War because they beat him up on a regular basis for 5 and 1/2 years!
I would like to ask McCain how did it feel being a prisoner of war in Vietnam for almost 6 years and how did it change his life because being beat up on a daily basis and seeing all the prisoners must have changed your life somehow.
Both Obama and McCain had tough lives and lifestyles, and they never had a permanent home.
Some ways the candidates are different are that one is a Democrat and one is a Republican. Also, McCain went to war, and Obama’s mom got divorced twice.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:47 pm
I think that it was interesting that John McCain was a pilot, was shot down by the Vietnamese and became a prisoner of war. I would like to ask McCain if he could go back and change anything, what would he change?
What was different about McCain and Obama was that John McCain is more a conservative than a liberal, and Obama is more like a liberal than a conservative.
One thing that is the same about both candadides is that they both lived hard lives. Also, they both had to move a lot when they were younger.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:19 pm
The thing that interest me about John McCain is that he was a prisoner of war, and that he had a chance to leave but he refused to leave and he stayed for 5 more years. it was interesting because they beat him and almost killed him, and he still never cracked no matter how hard they beat him.
If I could ask a question, I would ask what are you going to do with the war right now if you become president? I would ask that question because he fought in the war. But, I want to know if because he fought in the war, will he keep the soldiers in Iraq or bring them home and why?
Some ways that the candidates are different are:
1) they both have different colored skin,
2) one is a liberal and one is conservative,
3) Obama had two dads and McCain had one dad,
4) Obama did not participate in war and McCain did.
Some ways that the candidates are the same are:
1) they are both running for president.
2) they are both in major parties,
3) they are both men,
4) they were both in the U.S. Senate,
5) they both smoked and drank beer.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:28 pm
What is interesting about John McCain is that he was a prisoner of war for five and a half years in the Vietnam War. What is good about him is that he didn’t leave the prison until all the other prisoners were set free first. It was very noble and courageous to put others before you even when you are suffering.
I would like to ask, “If you could do one thing different while in the Vietnam prisons what would you do?” I would like to ask this because McCain was tortured in the prison and still put others before him.
A different thing about the candidates is that Obama is more liberal than conservative and McCain is more conservative.
A similarity is that they were both living in hard times. For Obama, he had to see all of the beggars on the streets, and McCain had to be in the Vietnam War.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:32 pm
Some things that interested me in John McCain’s past were that he was a drug addict, he snuck out of class, he chased women, he was a prisoner of war, and he wasn’t a very good listener. I found these interesting because he was really rotten when he was younger. I didn’t expect this kind of past from someone who is running for president. I didn’t like that he used drugs, drank often, gambled, and chased women. I also thought that it was kind of sad that he was a prisoner of war and that he got beat on a daily basis and that they starved him.
One question I would like to ask John McCain would be why do you want war when you were a prisoner of war for so long and you know what it is like?
Some ways in which the candidates are different are that John McCain is a White, old man whose upper lip doesn’t move when he talks. He is a Republican who wants to continue the war in Iraq. He wants to keep our country dependent on foreign oil. He does not support saving our environment and wants to “drill baby drill!” On the other hand, Barrack Obama is a younger Black man who speaks well with both lips. He is a Democrat who wants to end the war and bring our troops home. He supports alternative energy/fuel sources. He wants to become independent of using foreign oil and wants to save our environment.
Some ways that they are the same are that they are both men who are married with children and are running for president. They both had a rough life and used drugs as an outlet. They are both senators and want to run our country.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:37 pm
I think what was interesting about John McCain was that he was a prisoner of war for 5 1/2 years, and also he was asked to get out of the camp where they tortured him a lot. The reason he didn’t leave was because he wanted to stay there with his friends. He went through more crucial torturing. The Vietnamese told him to go because he was really important, but he said no because he was a loyal friend.
My question to John McCain would be what did you do when you first returned to America from 5 1/2 years of being tortured.
Some ways John McCain and Barack Obama are different are John McCain was White and Barack Obama was Black. John McCain is a Republican and Barack Obama is a Republican. Barack Obama got teased because he was Black and John McCain was White so he didn’t get teased. John McCain was a prisoner of war and Barack Obama was not.
Some ways John McCain and Barack Obama are alike is that they are both senators. They are both running in the nomination to become president. They both smoked. They both have families. John McCain and Barack Obama are both in major political parties, John McCain in the Republican Party and Barack Obama in the Democratic Party.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:58 pm
One thing that I am interested about John McCain is that when he was being held a prisoner, he did not tell his captors who he was and that his arm and legs were broken. He didn’t draw any attention to himself even though he was hurt. I think that this will make McCain a better leader because he wouldn’t always think that just because his father and grandfather played an important role in the military that everything revolved around him. Another thing I an interested McCain is that he got divorced once already. I think that it will help him to become a good leader because he could tell people what and how it feels to get a divorce. It will also help him to be a better husband to his wife.
One question I would like to ask McCain is that why he wanted a divorce with his wife (former). Another question I would like to ask is if he ever regreted doing drugs and having affairs.
Obama is different from McCain because McCain went to war and Obama didn’t. Also McCain knew who his father was and his mother didn’t marry twice.
The things that Obama and McCain have in common is that they both traveled a lot and they both did drugs during their lifetime. Also, they had times in the past when they had problems and they are now both running for President.

1. One thing that interests me about John McCain’s past is that he stayed as a P.O.W even after the Vietnamese offered John McCain to leave. The reason this interests me is that I would have probably left and gone home as soon as the Vietnameese offered me to leave. It also interests me that he can live a normal life after all those years of the Vietnameese being so cruel to him.
2. If there was one thing I could ask John McCain I would ask him, ” What made you stay with the other P.O.W’s even after the Vietnameese offered you to leave?” I would have asked him this question because I know a lot of people that would have left as soon as the Vietnameese offered to let them go. Another question I would have asked him is, “Did you ever regret the time that you were imprisoned?”
3. Some ways the candidates are different are: Barack Obama never knew his father that well and John McCain knew his father really well, Barack Obama is a Democrat and John McCain is Republican, and Barack Obama and John McCain have different ethnic backrounds.
4. Some ways the presidential candidates are different are: Barack Obama and John McCain both got involved with drugs, Barack Obama and John McCain are both in major political parties, and Barack Obama and John McCain both have White blood.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:39 pm
The thing about McCain that suprised me was that he took drugs, had affairs and was in a war. It was good that McCain fought for his country but it was bad for him to take drugs so he is not a good hero but he is also not a bad hero. It also suprised me that he married his friend’s wife just after they got divorced.
The things I would like to ask John McCain:
1) Did your friend’s wife divorce him because of you?
2) Why did you stay in the camp (during war) when they gave you a chance to get free?
3) How did you start taking drugs?
4) Who was your first wife?
Differences between the 2 candidates: OB=Obama Mc=McCain
OB: dad ran away
1) OB: lived in only wo places when he was a kid
MC: military kid and moved wherever the military took his father to
2) OB: raised in a hard life
MC: raised in a good family
3) OB: mom married a lot of guys
MC: had one sety of parents
4) OB: had a half sister
MC: no half brothers or sisters
5) OB: Black
MC: White
6) OB: went to harvard law school
MC: went to fly school
7) OB: been offered a lot of jobs at home
MC: went so war
MC: had a dad
9) OB: had his own kids
MC: had an adopted daughter
Things that are the same:
1) both were senators
2) both took drugs
3) both have children
4) both had a mom

I think that McCain being in the navy was good because it let him know how war is. So, if he wins, he won’t go sending lots and lots of people to a country that is way stronger than us. Also, I think that being senator and a whole bunch of other things helped and gave him a head start.
I would ask him why he went from navy to politics. That is a big change.
They are different because McCain was in the navy and Obama wasn’t. But, Obama started in law and McCain didn’t.
They are the same because they both did drugs. Also because well, they are both in politics.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:46 pm
Some things that interest me about John McCain’s past is that he gambled, drank and he smoked. That interested me because you wouldn’t expect a president to smoke and all that stuff. Another thing that interests me about John McCain’s past is that he was a prisoner for five years. I can’t imagine what he has been through, the hard times of being in prison to when he got divorced. But that will only make him stronger. To problem-solve and use his brain to get out of situations is a good thing to do. Sometimes making mistakes can be good because you can learn from it and never do it again, like when he got divorced, he can look back and see what things he did wrong and never do it again so it does not ruin another relationship.
One question that I would ask John McCain is that if you could change anything in his past what would it be and why? I would like to ask that question because everyone has something that they could have done better and wished they had another chance of doing. I would like to know it because I want to get to know him better so I can make the right choice of who to look up to (John McCain or Barack Obama). Another question that I would like to ask him is, when he was in war, did he ever wish he was at home enjoying time with his family?
Some ways the candidates are the different are McCain went to war and Obama didn’t. Another thing that they don’t have in common is that McCain often ran away from school and Obama stayed in school because he thought it was really important to have an education. Another thing that is different is that Obama is a Democrat and McCain is a Republican.
Some things they have in common are they both took bad drugs, they both are running for president, and they both faced bad times in their lives.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:47 pm
I’m interested in John McCain because his family has a lot of history of serving in different wars. All of the men in the family are high-ranked naval officers. John McCain also interests me because he served in the Vietnam War and became a prisoner of war where he was tortured, stabbed, and had bones repeatedly broken from head to toe.
Some questions I would like to ask John McCain are “What was being a prisoner of war like other than pure torture?” and “Did you still want to fly planes after those 6 years?”
Some ways the candidates are the same are that they both have experienced some hardships during life and they both did stuff they regret now, and now they are both running for the highest political position there is.
Some ways they are differant are that McCain foght in a war andObama didn’t Another way is that McCain had a good childhood unlike Obama.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:56 pm
One thing that interested me about John McCain was he was in the air force and he was in the Vietnam War. His plane got shot down, but lucky thing he had a parachute and landed in a lake. He broke his two arms and a leg and he also got captured. He was held in the prison for 5 1/2 years. He was offered by the Vietnamese to be let go but he refused. McCain had said he would only go if his friends would be let go too. They tortured McCain because they wanted him to confess that he was a war criminal. After that 5 1/2 years, he was let go and returned home. Another thing is that McCain was a tough person. He would not break down no matter what. That’s very brave in my opinion.
One question I would ask McCain is “If you became President, what would the first thing you would do to help your country to become a better place? I would ask this question because Iraq is getting really bad. More of our solders are dying every day.
A way McCain and Obama are different is Obama is a Democrat and McCain is a Republican. Another is they both have different skin colors and different backgrounds. McCain is conservative, while Obama is more liberal. Obama hardly knew his father, but McCain knew his father very well. McCain is 72 and Obama is 44.
Some ways they are the same are:
McCain and Obama are both running for President.
They both had experience with drugs and alcohol.
They are both interested with politics.
They both have the White blood.
October 2nd, 2008 at 10:01 am
What interests me about John McCain’s background is that he used drugs like Barack Obama and that he was not the best student in school. He led gangs in school and also chased girls like a crazy teenager. His background also interests me because he was a prisoner of war and their was bombing on their ship.
I would ask John McCain “how bad was it being a POW.” I would ask him this because I want to know how much he went through during this time.
I think that Barrack Obama does not have as much experience as John McCain but John McCain never went through poverty.
The candidates are the same because they both took drugs and they both had a very tough life.
October 2nd, 2008 at 9:10 pm
One thing that interests me about John McCain’s past is how he was in the Vietnam War. Though times were really hard, it’s hard to believe that he was a prisoner of war. Even though he was hurt, the Vietnamese did not give him the good care he needed. However, he survived.
One question I would like to ask John McCain is: what will you do to help stop wars? I would like to ask this question because you have been through wars. Aren’t you happy you’re still alive? We still need people in the army [ext..] but we don’t always have to deploy them.
Some differences between John McCain and Barack Obama is how Barack Obama is Black and John McCain is White. This is a historical battle. Also McCain is more proper and conservative but Obama is more liberal.
Some similarities between John McCain and Barack Obama are they both went through a rough life. McCain had a lot of pressure because his father and his grandfather were both admirals in the armed forces. Because of this, it was expected of him to follow in their footsteps.
Obama went through a hard life because he grew up not knowing his father. The last thing he remembered about his father was that he received a basketball and some records. When he was older, he received a phone call that his Dad had died in a car crash.
Another similarity with both candidates is that they both experienced drugs. It’s amazing how two presidential candidates share such awkward similarities, yet one of these men will become the president of the United States of America.
October 7th, 2008 at 7:03 pm
One thing that interests me is that McCain joined the air force. This is interesting to me because I wonder what he felt like when he bombed Vietnam cities knowing he was killing people.
Did you like Elvis Presley? I want to ask him this because he was 18 when Elvis was a star.
Differences between McCain and Obama:
1) One was in the military, the other wasn’t.
2) One is very young, the other very old.
3) One dad ran away, the other didn’t.
Similarities between McCain and Obama:
1) They were both senators.
2) They were both involved with drugs.
