I know that many of you want me to blog with the rest of all of you, but I am having a great time just reading your thoughts and opinions. One reason I am reluctant to blog is I do not want to influence your thoughts too much. I want the students to develop the ability to think on their own. Another reason is my personal thoughts might be controversial and I am in a position of responsibility at Kamehameha Schools.
I love working at Kamehameha Schools because I sincerely believe I am teaching the future leaders of the Hawaiian community. When I started two years ago, one thing that impressed me was the intelligence and motivation of the students and parents. Any kid at Kamehameha has just as much potential as any child I met in my travels around the world.
Even though I appreciate that the Hawaiians as a people had a “bad deal” in their history, I have never felt that the Hawaiians were disadvantaged. With a rich history of deep knowledge, the Hawaiians have much to teach the world about values towards others and the environment. I can see Hawaii as a center for teaching the world about sustainability, marine science, alternative energy sources, and even race relations. With the world gone wrong in so many ways, I feel a different perspective will be needed to solve problems in the world.
The Hawaiian culture must thrive, not just for Hawaiians but for the world. The world would be very lonely without Hawaiians. You see, I am not teaching the future leaders of Hawaii, but the world.

Sup Mr.Chung! Sorry about today, we were naughty because we were all excited and happy about how much candy we scored on Halloween and how cool your lessons are. Hopefully our class will learn to behave and get on all of the other teachers’ good side (it’s not that we don’t want to get on your good side) but we really want to have a great and fun year with you and do the economic system and earn some “Chung money.” Can you please,please,please let the Shave Ice dude come to our class? That would be really awesome and super fun. Could you please? I must say the Ring of Fire movie we watched with Mrs. Burgess’s class was really interesting. I would like to find out more about the Ring of Fire or if there is any more information that they did not give. Hey Kealani, if the phantom isn’t you then how did you know he attacked but most of the others had no clue? Strange isn’t it, because I do not recall an attack held in our class. Hi everybody!!! My name is Jamie, and I am Kailani’s older sister. I really enjoy reading the blogs, and I thought since Kailani is always blogging I should blog too. Some things about me: I am 11-years-old and I go to Le Jardin Academy. I am in the sixth grade, and at my school sixth grade is middle school. It is pretty hard! I LOVE bananas, and I really like playing games on the computer. Sometimes I wish I was Kailani because she is always bragging about how great her teacher is. Me and especially my mom really wanted to know why I didn’t get the jobs I wanted. Instead, I got a job that barely pays for my rent for my desk! I know that we get bonus money and stuff, but when do you remember me acing a math test? (That’s all you give out anyhow). So I can barely get bonus money except for the $50 you owe me for the long division quiz. Like THAT was a challenge!
Please don’t take this the wrong way. I am only curious. How can I get ANY money at all except for a few writing, reading, and occasionaly math problems? BY THE WAY, COULD I GET A SECOND JOB? JUST FOR THE EXTRA MONEY? I DON’T CARE WHAT THE OTHER JOB IS. BUT I NEED A CHALLENGE TO WORK HARDER! Just asking. Bye. (Oh, one more thing, don’t wear me out by when I said “working harder.”)

Mr. Chung,
I would like to take the interior decorating job. I want this job because I love being creative and I can do a lot of things with paper to color the room. I have an idea of what to do already, and I really want to turn the room into COLOR! I have fun doing those kinds of things, (coloring, decorating, and putting up projects and paper), so I would like to have that job.
P.S. I can still be quiet and calm, especially when I’m working with staples and scissors, and other sharp objects. With those types of things, I’m really careful.

Hey Mr. Chung!!!! Sorry I haven’t blogged for a while, (plenty stuff happens in 7th grade) Just dropping by to say hey, I’ve accomplished a lot of stuff, mostly things that I learned from you, my grades are better than my psychiatrist said it would be before the 5th grade, and I hope you’re still “nice” to your students, and Micah doesn’t go here anymore, so the jokes about prom just went OUT THE WINDOW!!!!
