“Pa’ahana” means to be industrious. It is also the name of our grade level economic system. Students earn “money” through their attitude, academic efforts, and responsibility. Each Day Six we will be opening the Second Grade Store where students may spend their money. Occasionally we offer a mini society activity in addition to the store. This system encourages students to take personal responsibility in a fun way based on real-world expectations and incentives.
Pa’ahana will be held every Day Six from 12:15 – 1:00 p.m. We are in need of volunteers who would be responsible for setting up the store, helping students purchase goods, and cleaning up. If you are not able to volunteer please consider sending donations of individually wrapped food items. We are always in need of yummy donations!
These are the dates of Pa’ahana for the first trimester: August 14 & 30, September 11 & 27, and October 15 & 23. If you are able to help at our Pa’ahana, please inform your child’s homeroom teacher of the days you are available.
Donations may be sent to your child’s homeroom teacher at any time. Thank you so much for your constant generosity and support.
