He kapu na pöhaku hänau ali’i

The (signs of) the kapu are the stones at the birth of a chief.

The peal of thunder heralds the birth of a high chief.  Thunder (pöhaku) was likened to the sounds of stones rolling.

Ku‘u Oli Mo‘okü‘auhau

‘O (name of person) noho iä (name of spouse)

Hänau ‘ia ‘o (name of their child)
